Hans Georg Dehmelt is a German-born American physicist, who was awarded Nobel Prize in Physics in 1989, for co-developing the ion trap technique with Wolfgang Paul, for which they shared one-half of the prize.He was born on September 9, 1922.

Pauline Marois becomes the first female premier of Quebec

On September 4, 2012, Pauline Marois, the 30th and current Premier of Quebec and leader of the Parti Quebecoisled her party to victory in the Quebec general election, thus becoming the first female premier in the province's history. Marois is representing the riding of Charlevoix–Cote-de-Beaupre in the National Assembly of Quebec.
