Philip Warren Anderson was born December 13, 1923 is an American physicist and Nobel laureate. Anderson has made contributions to the theories of localization, antiferromagnetism, symmetry breaking, high-temperature superconductivity and to the philosophy of science through his writings on emergent phenomena.

Robert Adler

Robert Adler was born on December 4, 1913, he was an Austrian-born American inventor who held numerous patents. He died on February 15, 2007. The invention Adler is best known for is the wireless remote control for televisions. While not the first remote control, its underlying technology was a vast improvement over previous remote control systems.

Russell Alan Hulse

Russell Alan Hulse was born November 28, 1950 and he is an American physicist and winner of the Nobel Prize in Physics, shared with his thesis advisor Joseph Hooton Taylor Jr., "for the discovery of a new type of pulsar, a discovery that has opened up new possibilities for the study of gravitation". He was a specialist in the pulsar studies and gravitational waves.

James Dewar

James Dewar was a Scottish chemist and physicist. He was born on September 20, 1842. He is probably best-known today for his invention of the Dewar flask, which he used in conjunction with extensive research into the liquefaction of gases. He died on March 27, 1923.
