Fidel Castro step down

 The Cuban leader  on 19th March, 2008, forty-nine years after taking power in an armed revolution. This has ended the Cold War fracas that has made him an icon to leftists, and a tyrant to his foes. Castro, 81, who has not appeared in public since undergoing stomach surgery, said he would not be seeking a new term as president or leader of Cuba's armed forces when the National Assembly meets again. His retirement has raised expectations for a post-communist system of government, and calls by the United States for democracy.

Gottlieb Daimler

Gottlieb Daimler was an engineer, industrial designer and industrialist born in Schorndorf, in what is now Germany. He was a pioneer of internal-combustion engines and automobile development.He invented the high-speed  petrol-engine and the first four-wheel automobile and invented the first gas-engined motorcycle in 1885, which was an engine attached to a wooden bike. That marked the moment in history when the dual development of a viable gas-powered engine and the modern bicycle collided. Born March 17, 1834 and died March 6, 1900.

Encyclopedia Britannica announces that it will no longer public printed versions of its encyclopedia on March 13, 2012.After 244 years reference book firm Encyclopaedia Britannica has decided to stop publishing its famous and weighty 32-volume print edition.

Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin

Yuri Alekseyevich Gagarin was born on  9 March 1934, he was a Soviet pilot and cosmonaut. He was the first human to journey into outer space, when his Vostok Spacecraft completed an orbit of the Earth on 12 April 1961. He died on 27 March 1968.

Space Shuttle Discovery is one of the retired orbiters of the Space Shuttle Programe of  NASA and was operational from its maiden flight, STS-41-D on August 30, 1984– September 5, 1984, until its final landing during STS-133on March 9, 2011. Discovery has flown more than any other spacecraft having completed 39 successful missions in over 27 years of service.

Valentina Tereshkova

Valentina Vladimirovna Tereshkova was  born 6 March 1937, she is a retired Soviet Cosmonaut and the first woman to have flown in space.

The computer virus "Michelangelo" went into effect.

The Michelangelo virus is a computer virus first discovered in 4 February 1991 in Australia.    The virus was designed to infect DOS systems, but did not engage the operating system or make any OS calls. Michelangelo, like all boot sector viruses, basically operated at the Bios level. Each year, the virus remained dormant until March 6, the birthday of Renaissance artist Michelangelo. There is no reference to the artist in the virus, and it is doubtful that the virus writer intended Michelangelo to be referenced to the virus.The computer virus "Michelangelo" went into effect on march 2,1992.

25th Amendment to the US Constitution Adopted

 25th Amendment to the US Constitution was adopted on February 23, 1967 and it was ratified by Minnesota on February 10, 1967. Its purpose was to clarify presidential succession in case of death, resignation, or disability. It deals with succession to the Presidency and establishes procedures both for filling a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, as well as responding to Presidential disabilities.

Serial explosions in Hyderabad

Based on to the first reports from Hyderabad, it is reported that eleven people were killed and more than fifty injured on Thursday ( February 21,2013) night when at least three powerful serial blasts rocked a busy commercial hub of Hyderabad close to a crowded bus stand at Dilsukhnagar. The blasts happened at three points - Anand Kishan Centre, Konark theater and Venkatadri movie theater. The blasts happened simultaneously at around 7pm. The first blast occurred at 7:01 pm. The second blast happened at 7:06 pm. Two cycles were used to cause the blasts as per initial repports. One bomb has been said to have been found to be unexploded near a foot bridge.
