Teacher's Day in India is observed on September 5, on the birthday of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, India's second President and an extremely respected scholar and teacher of philosophy. It is the day that Indians honour the teachers for their immense contribution to the country and the community. The World Teachers' Day is observed on October 5.

Pauline Marois becomes the first female premier of Quebec

On September 4, 2012, Pauline Marois, the 30th and current Premier of Quebec and leader of the Parti Quebecoisled her party to victory in the Quebec general election, thus becoming the first female premier in the province's history. Marois is representing the riding of Charlevoix–Cote-de-Beaupre in the National Assembly of Quebec.

The Information Technology Act was enacted in the
year 2000 with a view to give a fillip to the growth of electronic based
transactions, to provide legal recognition for e-commerce and
e-transactions, to facilitate e-governance, to prevent computer based
crimes and ensure security practices and procedures in the context of
widest possible use of information technology worldwide.
Government had introduced the Information Technology
(Amendment) Bill, 2006 in the Lok Sabha on 15th December 2006. Both
Houses of Parliament passed the Bill on 23rd December 2008. Subsequently
the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008 received the assent of
President on 5th February 2009 and was notified in the Gazette of
India.

Carl David Anderson was born on September 3, 1905, he an American physicist. He is best known
for his discovery of the positron in 1932, an achievement for which he
received the 1936 Nobel Prize in Physics. He died on January 11, 1991.

First satellite that North Korea attempted to launch
Kwangmyongsong-1 or Gwangmyeongseong-1 was a satellite allegedly launched by North Korea on 31 August 1998.
It was the first satellite to be launched as part of the Kwangmyongsong
program, and the first satellite that North Korea attempted to launch.
