Jacques Edwin Brandenberger

Jacques Edwin Brandenberger was a Swiss chemist and textile engineer who in 1908 invented cellophane(Cellophane is a thin, transparent sheet made of regenerated cellulose. Its low permeability to air, oils, greases, bacteria and water makes it useful for food packaging). He was born on October 19, 1872 and died on July 13, 1954.

Gandhi Jayanti - International Day of Non-Violence

Gandhi Jayanti is observed on October 2. It is a national holiday celebrated in India to mark the occasion of the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, the "Father of the Nation". Edgar Dean Mitchell was born September 17, 1930, he is an American pilot, retired Captain in the United States Navy and NASA astronaut. As the lunar module pilot of Apollo 14, he spent nine hours working on the lunar surface in the Fra Mauro Highlands region, making him the sixth person to walk on the Moon.
