First satellite that North Korea attempted to launch
Kwangmyongsong-1 or Gwangmyeongseong-1 was a satellite allegedly launched by North Korea on 31 August 1998.
It was the first satellite to be launched as part of the Kwangmyongsong
program, and the first satellite that North Korea attempted to launch.

Space Shuttle Discovery first flight
Space Shuttle Discovery is one of the retired orbiters
of the Space Shuttle Programs of NASA. Its first flight is on August 30, 1984– September 5, 1984(STS-41-D ), until its
final landing during STS-133on March 9, 2011. Discovery has flown more than any other spacecraft having completed 39 successful missions in over 27 years of service.

Mars made its closest approach to Earth
Mars made its closest approach to Earth and maximum apparent brightness in nearly 60,000 years, 55,758,006 km (0.372719 AU), magnitude −2.88, on 27 August 2003 . This occurred when Mars was one day from opposition and about three days from its perihelion, making Mars particularly easy to see from Earth. Mother Teresa
Mother Teresa ( Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, M.C) was an Albanian born, Indian Roman Catholic Religious Sister born on 26 August 1910. Mother Teresa founded the Missionaries of Charity, a Roman Catholic religious congregation, which in 2012 consisted of over 4,500 sisters and is active in 133 countries. Died on 5 September 1997.
